Prevention CDN-NDG is looking for a street worker to work with young people aged 12 to 25 in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood.

TASK DESCRIPTION :
 To ensure a presence in the environments frequented by young people
 Identify vulnerable young people and build trust with them to create a climate conducive to intervention
 Identify the needs of young people met and intervene according to these needs
 Follow up and accompany young people in their efforts towards a better quality of life
 Refer and accompany young people to the appropriate resources
 Participate in the coordination of an animation project in the parks during the summer, and supervise the animation team
 Lead primary-secondary transition workshops in Grade 6 classrooms in neighborhood schools
 Work in collaboration with members of the CDN-NDG Prevention Team
 Work in partnership and network with neighborhood organizations and institutions
 Participate in meetings of the local intervention team
 Participate in the stakeholder committee meetings.
 Produce a monthly and annual activity report

REQUIREMENTS:
 Have relevant experience in intervention
 Have relevant experience with young people or have a good knowledge of youth issues
 College or university degree in intervention or related field (an asset)
 Showing openness and empathy and having a good non-judgmental capacity
 Autonomy, initiative, organization, sense of responsibility and great adaptability
 Have experience or knowledge of the community and multicultural environment
 Being bilingual (French and English), a third language is an asset
 Know the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood (an asset)

WORKING CONDITIONS :

• 35 hours / week
• Salary: $ 18.00 / hour
• Start of employment: October 21, 2019
• Flexible day and evening work schedule, occasionally on weekends
